Hi,
what is this device? What are its advantages? The youtuber calls it crocodile. It looks like a device that establishes an AC connection once shut.
The last attachment is to show that I understand that there are valid diy audio applications for actual crocodiles. I may come around to do this in a coming project.
Thank you.

We commonly call them Lennies, (LNEs).
You connect the wire end to a mains outlet. The metal contacts remain safe while the device is open.
You then connect any mains powered equipment to the metal spring contacts.
You connect the contacts to LIVE by shutting down the top of the Lennie.
In your photo it looks as though the device has been used in the secondary circuit of the power supply, this is unusual but perfectly acceptable.
The only advantage is that it saves you having to put a plug on a piece of equipment under test.

I looked briefly at the video, it looks like a ordinary crc power supply suitable for class a amps
Thank you Katie and Dad! I like the device, but when I search for LNE or Lennie nothing meaningful comes up. What does LNE stand for, please?
Live Neutral Earth.
All three conductors are connected through the device.
It is just an elaborate 3 pole switch.
You don't tend to see them these days.

Not cheap, but I've found mine to be very useful
I look forward to seeing your reptile-based project 😀
