Please help me create a wider than average pdf

I need to make a document to share, pdf is the common format I think.

I'm using MS Word to create the document. It needs to be about 30 cm wide with minimal margins to fit the images. It took me awhile to figure out how to set the margins that wide in Word, and awhile to figure out how to get rid of the page breaks.

When I try to save the document as pdf, two of the pdf creators I've downloaded do not keep the same page size I have set in Word. It doesn't matter if I choose portrait or landscape, doesn't matter what size paper I choose, it always ends up making the same messed up pdf. The other pdf creator keeps the page size but skews they image, it looks like they are rolling across an old tv screen.

I've been working on this for about 12 hours and can't get anything remotely acceptable.

I prefer not to resize the images, there are over 70 images and they are already small enough.

I am able to get perfect results if I just save the Word document as a web page. Is that a common format to share documents? It seems weird but it works.

Please advise. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the responses. I think I have it working now. The big problem was I was not in the right view in Word. And my internet connection is almost completely broken so I was not able to RTFM.
