The 4 nine pin sockets in a group is the phono amp section.

The big sockets are for Ba tubes..

Well I am old fashioned. And so is the buddy I'm building it for.

I could also have tried something like the minimal reactance PSU ...as coined and thought up by Dave Davenport of Raleighaudio. But the request was to build a Cleo V and Phono Dude.

What specifically would you suggest?

I would go for something more radical. Something along the lines of the Fi amps.

Aah yes...I like that design as well...that is what I call thinking outside the box..😀

Take the F, rotate output section (two 9-pin sockets and two big ones) 90 degrees clockwise, then turn the entire device 90 degrees clockwise and that'll be my choice 😀

That is an excellent suggestion...Never thought of that...but probably won't do that because all the RCA plugs etc, would be to the right of the amp...depends on the future owner of the amp..

Yes, and that's also my choice 😀. Just hate to crawl behind the amps connecting something...

B is a looker..but the phono section to the right...will have looong wires from the rca plugs...all the way between the psu trannies and chokes...and all that 🙂

Not much...I agree..but the path is important I think...phono is a small signal...and in that sense susceptible to all kinds of rfi/emi

Yep I agree, sorry was being cheeky. But I quite like the traditional tube amp layouts with wood copper etc.
I think yours will look real nice🙂

Hi Bas, If you use the right wire, you'll not notice anything.
BTW. I have the right wire for this section 😉
It's not cheap, but the best one I've ever used.

100% sheelded twisted pair wire!

Silver plated Mil specs wire!

You can see it when you pickup the ESL's 😉
