I personally would ge for a secondhand DreamCast if I relley wanted to buy a games console.. WHY WOULD I THOUGH!!! I am happy with my P200 emulating a sega MegaDrive. . 🙂 or emulating the good old Amigas on my Thunderbird 1Ghz... I have a few hundred games on CD for amiga.. Unlimited gaming?? 😀 lol
kool, i have almost every game for genesis on cd, i have over 50 games of N64 on cd and almost every game for Snes. but i dont know anythin about amiga but it sounds kool. do u have any psx emus? i have some old ones.

I have GameGear, Game Boy, N64, PlayStation, Sega MegaDrive and Amiga.. 🙂 but I don't play them all.. 😛
you'll end up upgrading consoles just as often as you'd need to upgrade PC parts...so that's not really an issue. Also, if you absolutely despise using the keyboard/mouse config, buy (or make) a gamepad. For old NES and SNES roms I play I wired up a PSX pad to my parallel port and use that 🙂
Once you get used to the keyboard/mouse config it works a LOT better than controllers. With controllers you are limited with the speed you can aim your weapon and rotate in first person shooters, but with a PC you can rotate as quickly as you can move your mouse. It's much more accurate and quick.

Also, the NUMBER OF KEYS!!!! Most games console contollers seem to have a rather limited functinality as to the number of keys (buttons) and their location... We all know the layout of the keyboard (right?!?!?!?) So having to hit a certain key to perform a partucular function is easy, no matter what that key is..... honestly... what is your computer Negative Design?? I am sure you could get most of the games you want to play for PC.... and even if you can't there are SO many games that are similar, you'd probably find a game that was better than the one you wanted.. does that make sense?? Anyway, you can buy adapters to plug Playstation and N64 controllers into the USB port.. 🙂
umm...no it doesnt really make much sense..lol😀 i have a AMD 2000+256 2100 ram 7g hd 40 g hd ati 8500 le 64mb etc.. and i hate the n64 controller i Have a "Rumblepad".

Negative Design said:what are your PC specs? and whats "HALOJOY"?
Not that great.. 1GhzThunderBird... 256megs ram.. 40gig HD.... 32meg TNT2 M64 graphics card..... not that good, but I'm happy.. 🙂
whats the other question???
its a good system. its a lil above average. do you have a projector or anything? if so what do yuo have?
You guy make this so complicated. Why drop 2 grand on a good pc when you could get a gameing console for 200 that is made to do the same thing but better. I never use my pc for games. And i don't know about all of you, but isn't playing flight simulator on a keyboard a little lame?
dude...what are you talkin about? i dont use my keyboard for anythig but typing. 2 GRAND?? ahaha not me i paid 250 buddy.and i HARDLY play any games, i have games yes.you can never compare a PC to a console. and theres no way a console can do better than a pc. please do more research before you come to a conclusion.
If you payed 250 dollars for your computer I doubt you can run the games coming out right now... and if you can it's probably choppy as all...
Damn, you guys are very defensive about this topic... It makes me laugh... hehe... I was talking 200 for a game console like ps2. Yes, i know you can make (or buy) a nice gaming machine for much less then 2000... For 600 i could make a dual processotr machiine that will rival most super computers (well thats an over statement buy you get the drift). It is funny how every one is right about how one should play games (pc, ps2, xbox, atari)... Could it just be that each person has there own personal preference? I prefer Playstion becuse that is the system that comes out with the gta franchise first. I would never want to play gta on the computer becuse 1: tiny 17" screen. No DIY projector, 2: No couch to lay on, 3: driving with a keyboard is a pain on the hands...
