Planning to build Kirishima or Vulcan

The take away here for me and perhaps others to learn from my mistake -The damping material was critical esp for the bass. Today I took down the corner walls I built and spread the speakers out to 14 ft. and I've moved them out from the wall some too with still good results. Much fuller soundstage and separation of individuals and instruments. What a great cabinet and speaker! It was the whole time I just appreciate it even more no with the damping material correct.

Room question
Currently it is 10H x 22.5W x 25.75L with canted ceiling from 6ft on side walls up to the 10ft ceiling.
To get a more regular rectangle and true corners I am planning on making the room 14ft wide.
My two options for the length are
1. More "open room" leave it at 25.75 which will leave a staircase that is on the back wall in the layout. It is closed off with doors at the bottom and I can put a fair amount of absorption on the walls leading downstairs. Volume 3600 ft3 and stairs add another 200 ft3.
2. "closed room" Make a new wall at 19L and have a closed off room. This results in a 10x14x19 room dimension which is supposed to be good to work with. Volume 2660 ft3

I am looking for input as to which option may work better with the Vulcan's horn design.
Thanks
Eric
