Planar linesource transducer

First steps in making a 2 meter planar transducer. More to come in my slow pace.

I am a little slower than you 🙂 . I will use 3 of the magnets 3mm apart and then 20 magnets long. The wires on foil think I will make it with only 2 up down. 6mm wide 2 mm apart that will give 3 ohms. And the width off the ribbon you can see 20mm. <Lets see how low that can play hope 500-600 hz.

Yeah it's gonna be alot of fun to handcut an over 2 meter planar 😀. Do you got big plans for your magnets when you finish your CNC ?
well if i can i make the machine so i can make fullranges. frames and coils and ribbons. 🙂 like 2 frames in one go and 2 coils in one go. but we will see 🙂 it alll depends on if it fits in my shed (or able to move it haha)

I'd pay you guys for a set of replacement ribbons for my Genesis system. It uses the Carver 48" ALS midrange driver. There are many looking for an exact drop in as a backup or??? This is not the BG ribbon that Genesis had as a later part for the G2 system.

i know i had serveral people asking for something from the carver line.. problem is i cant make them exactly how they made them besides that i need at least one driver to even see how it works and what the specs are i am trying to achieve 🙂

@WrineX I have 4 Carver 30" drivers from their Amazing Speaker. I would be willing to send you one for examination, etc. if you could perhaps, once you have figured it out, repair them for a reasonable amount. Send me a pm if you are interersted and I am sure we could work something out. Thanks.

The biggest problem is shipping the drivers and magnets shifting or breaking. Sending a damaged one is no issue. Maybe just provide the replacement driver membrane? Are there any Carver ALS speakers for sale overseas? Just some thoughts. What specs would you need to make a replacement?

Has anyone tried to apply a stretchable, conductive liquid metal to the kapton? You could vary the amount of metal to meet the resistance values needed. Applied with a CNC or silk screened are 2 options. It's flexible and can move with the membrane.

Just some thoughts.

well i would like to take a peek, but without any promesses . so 1 would be enough 🙂 but i cant prommise i can make them repair them, or make them any better 🙁 problem i have is repairing 1 might take a week. that would make the cost of repair insane 🙁 just to take a look i would be willing to spend some money to cover shipping or something.
