I have some PL504's. Except for some mention that these could be used in an OTL, I couldn't find any circuits on the web.
Would anyone be able to suggest the best application for this tube. Are there any published circuits for an OTL using these tubes?
Thanks,
Ashok.

PL504
I believe the Graff uses 20 PL504 in the O/P OTL style!
Guess any pentode style otl, like the Allan Kimmel OTL should work fine, so long as the operating point is chosen carefully

Hi,
Actually only 12 of them in the GM100TL and 32 of them in the GM200.
As for actual circuits using these...never seen any.
Cheers,😉

32 x PL504, I hope thats a stereo amp!! Could you imagine two monoblocks with that lot on!--Does the National Grid supply special 3 phase installations for these amps!!

Hi,
Imagine....errrr, yes....provided someone else is prepared to foot the electricity bill.
The GM 200 are stereo amps, 800 Watt power consupmtion idle, 1600 Watt at full flight.
Mind you, mine aren't too far off.
Cheers,😉

Braun CSV-60 used those tubes.
My friend has one, made in 1957.Sounds quite good.
It is push-pull design, just one pair for each channel.
As I recall ECC83 is a driver tube.
I think I have PDF with schematics of this amp.

A circuit at last !
Hi Bartek,
I would really like to have that circuit. Would be really grateful if you could email it to me.
Thanks,
Ashok.

Hi,
The AudioXpress issue of january 2002 describes a PP amp using PL504s as well.
I'm sure there must be quite a few others as well...
Cheers,😉

Does anyone knows schematics with PL504 PCL85.
Ihave got them many but i don´t know how to use them in practice.

Do you still have the schematic?
If you do, then may I please have a look at it via email?
Thanks!
There must be some mistake. The PL504 didn't appear until 1965. I can still remember my first sighting of one in 1966zygibajt said:Braun CSV-60 used those tubes.

Hello ,
Klein und Hummel had many amps with this tubes , first they use EL 36 , then came EL 500 ( PL 500 ) , EL 504 in the same circuit .
The EL 36 version is the K +H VS 70 , the VS 71 is the newer one with EL 504 .
Also their studio mono amps V 30 were build with EL 504 , in all these amps the driver tube was ECF 80 with the triode as phase inverter .
There were also amps from Telefunken , PE and Elac with EL 504 in the sixties .
I think , I have all these circuits , send me an E - Mail .
Regards , Alex .

Check out Mr. Kainka's website
www.b-kainka.de
He has some 3 circuits using the PL504, one is a high voltage plasma arch (can't remember the name of the thing right now).
I made one , but the sound was very very low, could be the trannies🙁
