Hi,
I bought new pioneer shm-50 bookshelf speaker for surround. i want to use for stereo speaker now but crossover system is weird, only one film capacitor, please see photos. is it bad , cheap or what? should i change with quality film caps or should i buy new real crossover ?

Whatever you may feel about the crossover its obviously designed to work with the drive units and cabinet used. And it is a real crossover whatever you might think 🙂
To susbstitute it for anything more would require detailed acoustic measurements and the driver specifications... which is totally non practical.
With the greatest respect these are cheap speakers and have to be viewed as such 🙂
