Hi Guys
I need some advice please. A friend brought one of these turntables to me with a seized synchronous motor. As yet, I have not taken the motor apart to clean out coagulated lubricant but managed to free the armature with a wee drap of penetrating oil. By hand, it turns freely and when mains is connected @50Hz 220V, the motor spins silently for about 30 seconds and then stops. The laminations around the motor gets a bit warm during running.
What do you think could be the problem? I have taken the entire motor and its loom with a small pcb out. On the pcb is a capacitor (0,047uf). If this cap is wonky, will I have these symptoms?
