pioneer PL 516 intermittently stops spinning on 33 rpm

hi, i hope someone can help me on this
i have a pioneer PL516 turntable that's stop spinning,
only on 33 speed and not on 45 speed, sometimes i can get it to spin again if i go back and forth with the pitch control knob or it will start up again on it's own
pitch is dead on and i have not cleaned the speed pot yet
i have lubed the spindles replaced the belt and can play 45 records all day long
platter spins freely by hand, has anyone had this problem?

i have not cleaned the speed pot yet.

Go ahead and clean the speed pot. That may fix it, and it should be done anyway.

should i loosen the top panel or remove the bottom cover ?

found out i't not the speed control
it's the 33,45 speed selector switch
i to play with it for it to work
do think a cleaning will do it or replace the switch?

It's unlikely to be worn out, so give it a good cleaning.
Don't use too much cleaner, just use a little and switch it back and forth 10 times or so.
Repeat until it works reliably.

i don't know anything about soldering or desoldering any wires
