Hello everyone 😎

I just bought a Pioneer CD player, model P-D70. There seems to be something wrong with it... it powers on, lights up, tray opens... but that's about it 😛

If there is anyone that has any knowledge, every/any help is welcomed.

Tray opens but won't close? sounds like the belt is slipping on the mechanism. What happens if you gently help it close? Does it sound like it's trying to do something? Maybe take the cover off and watch what is happening as you hit the button. I have never looked inside of a Pioneer but most CD players use a belt drive for the door mechanism.
Somebody on here is sure to know a lot more about this player than me.

First off... thanks for your reply to my post.

I seem to have explained my self poorly... the tray opens and closes... cd player powers on and off... lights up... but does not play cd :-(

I just hooked up the cd player and it played... or better yet, it kind of played... lol it sounded weird but at least it made some sort of sound 🙂

Do you have any idea what it can be?

Hi everyone,

I posted a few days back, asking for your help with a problem I was having with my vintage Pioneer CD player... In the mean time, I repaired it :yes:

After looking all over the place... above and under... I was gently tapping on the component that slides back and forte (the part which holds the lens) then it popped into place... I pluged it in and bang! it was playing lol. :note:

Hope this helps other people with similar problems... if any doubts, message me.
