hello, as i seen, it's common problem for pioneers when only volume knob is working, no other buttons except cd eject button and volume is not working. pioneer model is deh-p5500. The contacts of faceplate is cleaned with contact cleaner, contacts where smallest faceplate pcb attaching to mainboard pcb - also cleaned. i dont thhink that its contact problem.

The most common problems are intermittently broken conductors in the ribbon cable or buttons that are stuck down. If all buttons feel the same, I'd suspect the ribbon.
