Hi, my head unit struggles to eject cds. It partly ejects and you have to grab it and pull it out, but it wont come out all by itself. The roller turns, but slip on the disc. It has a flap that presses the disc against a wedge shaped roller on either edge of the disc.
I thought the flap might have been grabbing the cd, so i tried some silicone lube on the flap, but this is no better.
Next I will try to clean the wedge rollers with some alcohol wipes
What are others doing to fix this issue successfully?

Rubber roller that pushes out the cd has become soft over the period.
Only thing that will help is rebuiding the rubber, with some means if available.

I don't think you want to use alcohol on the rubber rollers. It may help temporarily, but it will dry the rubber and eventually make the problem worse. Rubber rejuvenator should still be sold; it is made for rollers in magnetic tape paths and that sort of thing. It removes that glaze that forms on the rubber parts. Maybe some gentle abrasion with an emory board, wiping the roller clean with a damp cloth afterward, will improve operation.
