Hi I'm recapping a GM2000a power supply caps, the caps are rated at 35v do I need to replace with 35v or can I assume anything above 16v will do?
Typically, an electrolytic capacitor with higher voltage will have a lower ESR and will not heat as much when stressed. High quality 16v caps may work but if there is sufficient space, the 35v may be a better choice, all else being equal.
