Pioneer CD Player Problem

hi all

I'd a Pioneer PD-S802 which I had modified recently and it was working fine for the past month.

However, all of a sudden this evening, when I tried to play my CDs, the platter didn't even spin when the drawer is fully retracted.

Is this an indication that the lifespan of the laser is up and ready for replacement?

Hi Noah,

We spoke earlier. I don't think that the lens needs replacing as Pioneer laser lens don't die in this fashion. In addition, the lens are glass lens and they are very durable.

Check through your mods with a multimeter, focusing on the power supply for the onboard clock and you may discover a solution for this problem.

Yeah, the post above precedes our conversation just now.

As discussed earlier, I would have to change the rectifier diodes first to confirm the cause of failure.
