Hi
With help from the people on DIY Audio Forum I have sorted out the problems with my Pioneer A400 AMP. I have replaced all the Electrolytic Capacitors with Panasonic FC and the improvement is fantastic.
The only problem seems to be with the Phono stage which seems to be rather Weak and flat. I was wondering if I could fit a pair of phono sockets at the back and bypass the original phono stage. Has anybody got any ideas with regard to this. Such a where to connect the new socket wires to, or even if I could connect an External stage to another input. I have a Graham Slee Genera Phono stage which sounds great on my JLH 80 watt.
Many thanks
Martin

You can run a separate phono stage straight into an aux or tape/tuner input. If you like the result then its easy to isolate the phono stage (just remove the input and output coupling components) aand you can then link input to output with a wire on the PCB and use the original sockets and switch position on the Pioneer. Easy to revert back to.
