If it does buzz again (and also when it doesn't) try measuring your mains voltage and note the readings. See if there is a pattern.

Refund issued at long last - with an apology. Name and shame time - they eventually gave a long spiel about their speakers getting blown by the amp at a house party! Why sell the amp as working then!!

sounds more like the amplifier was blown up due to overheating and the resulting output offset took out the speaker/s

That's what a drunken operator can so easily do.

Hide the volume controls away if you're going to hold a party !

I am about to get a refund when my return is confirmed by Royal Mail as "delivered".
Ebay are paying the return post and they say it's insured as well as tracked.
Fingers crossed because it's a big one.
