Panomaniac. This may have already been covered on this forum, but I am a relative newcomer. With regard to the input caps "classic mod" 2.2uf is specified. I have seen that other people have used 4.7uf. I have tried 4.7's and they sound better to me. However are they rolling off the bass to make it sound brighter ?

The 4.7uF won't be rolling off the bass more than the 2.2uF, it's the other way around!

You don't really need any bigger than about 1.5uF to get a flat response down to 15Hz or lower. Your speakers should be so good. 😉

The bigger cap might sound better, but I can't see why, unless its internal construction is better. But what it will do is give you a bigger power-on thump. Not a problem if you use a soft start circuit.

Not according to what i read here

I'll go with that. I tried bypassng 2uF Obbligato oil caps with 0.2uF Obbligato copper tube. Could not hear any difference. Didn't get as much time as needed to really test it, but if there was a difference, it was very subtle.

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the configuration of the CLARI-T amp by Red Wine Audio. It looks as though it uses 2 2024 boards. If they operate in mono for each channel, how have they been able to do that. I thought that you could not mono the Tripath 2024 ?
