Over in the loudspeakers forum a discussion is just beginning on a dedicated amp for Piezo tweeters. Given the rather different natural impedance (i.e. without external components like resistors) one wonders what could be done with tubes. OTL with great big resistor across the speaker? Makes me go hmmm....

Yes, an OTL would do very nicely indeed. Ideal, in fact, no resistor needed; 6C45 would do nicely as output valves.
Guys,
94 dB. seems to be a common sensitivity for piezo tweeters. 2 W. should be distressingly loud, at the freq. range tweeters operate in.
How about an ECC99 wired as a LTP. Just place the piezo tweeter between the 2 anodes. The tweeter is self coupling and no caps. are needed.
