Well I eventually got my first batch of photos back so here's a few pics of my Diy speakers half way through the build if any one is interested.
Stew,
Stew,
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I see you have some aeroplanes, too
Can they actually fly? 😉
We have another member with Aviation Interest

Dave, I'm using Morel drivers, a MDT32-s tweeter, MDM-55 soft dome midrange and a MW266 paper bass unit. For all the price the 55 is a real gem. 🙂
halojoy, Yes those are Radio controlled, the Twin jet is powered by Nicad's giving around 10mins of flight at full throttle, Top speed of around 50-60 MPH, I've also got a Cap 231 with a 23cc methanol/nitromethane burning engine with a wing span of around 1.6 meters and a top speed of around 100-120mph
🙂 You should try it since your interested in flight. A free simulator is available at http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html and it really quite good.

Great - fly me to the moon
Great!
Must be REAL fun to be a driver of such a plane.
Even if it is only standing on the ground
watching the flight ......
/halo - earthbound
---------------------------------------------
Those Morel you mention are all familiar to me.
I was very tempted to build a Morel speaker.
Thay make very high quality woofers & tweeters.
The mid-range drivers are, with a chamber at the back,
need no box of their own.
A little like Dynaudio's Mids.
Some of the woofers have good data for sealed boxes, too.

Yes I went for a sealed alignment for the MW266, I have never herd a ported box before that I like so it's sealed for me all the way.

Re: Great - fly me to the moon
IB Morel started out with tech licenced from Dynaaudio, hence the similarities...

I could never have guessed, but the similarity is obvious.
