A Panasonic SV-3800P-H turned up at my door and I let it in... A pro level DAT that has almost zero use. It sat in a program directors office for several years and was never used. No record inhibit either. Balanced inputs/outputs as well as optical and AES.
So any suggestions to hot rod this unit? While it came with its rack mount ears and remote, the manual did not make the trip. If anyone has one that can be scanned, I would love to get a copy.

Panasonic would be happy to send you one if you ask the right person there...by the way good score on that unit

The Panasonic SV 3800 is a studio DAT. There is probably very little you could do to this and make it sound better. It and the SV 3700 (the one I had) where considered to be some of the best DAT's you could get at the time. The only gripe we had with our 3700 was related to one of its finnest features. 16X FF and RR!! Nice to pop to tracks for demo to an Exec. but it was hell on the nylon gears in the transport. We went through several packs of these gears. Lucky thing you can order the gear rebuild kit from Panasonic. In home HiFi use I doubt you will use the 16X seek much.
Hey Joe,
where you running with that manual in your hand? No really, any contact for the manual or are you just suggesting in general?
Cool to know about the unit. I am just now getting to play with it since I had to hook up the balanced output stuff. I think it will very useful in the home recording / computer.
Now if I can just get a set of nearfield monitors to fall of a truck someplace..
