Nevermind raisins. Make raisin-like pellets of ferrite! Just need a lot of them in a very even pattern. The difficult part might be writing/reading. Would it be possible to modify a microwave oven? For the spin process?
Edit:
Forgot: if using pellets you might need a more powerful coil to write values, maybe the pie must be made from a different material than pastry, or the pellets might shoot around all over the place.

Well think about what you are saying there. a 5 1/4" floppy if properly formatted will hold many files.
Many files my behind. What the hell kind of file is smaller than 1.2 MB anymore?

Interesting question. size:<1.2MB returns 652561 files out of 778398 on the laptop hard drive - which has 608GB of stuff on it. That's 84%... Surprsingly large number!
How many of those files contain useful data? Most of them are probably system gibberish.... so your application has to load 2,634 files before it will start -. And the data file that it opens is less than a page, taking 2MB. The whole time that stupid little circle is spinning. Can take out the garbage, take a whiz, and get a car insurance quote while u wait!
