I will look at Halliday/Resnick/Krane. I have heard good things about Purcell, and Kleppner/Kolenkow.
People on a budget might be interested in the free Mechanics and Special Relativity by Morin and Essential Physics by Firk. These are honors level, and I find them a little intimidating.

Also, the MIT physics series is superb and available in paperback. French's "Vibrations and Waves" is still thumbed through regularly chez moi. [/B]
