Hi first off a service question, is it advisable to give the swing bearing a drop of light oil top bottom or both?
And can anyone say is the CDM-9 the same as the CDM-9/44??? I can't find this info anywhere??

The CDM9-44 and CDM9-65 are basially the same.
The difference is in the lead length and is only very slight.
The designation CDM9 is meaningless without the /44 or /65 or similar.
I would not recommend using any oil.

Are there materials bearing parts involved that could react to oil.
Is the bearing itself roller or brass sleeve/bush

As I know, the CDM9 exist only in two basically versions:
1) with brushless motor (pro-version) - go to images under

2) with normal motor
All the other differences was only small details (e. g. lenght of the foil connector etc.).
If one have a certainly cd player for service, check one of the various cross reference list and try to buy a second device in used condition with exact the same CDM9 version - for me the most helpful way.
