As I turned on my Philips CD960 a few days ago, I am getting error flashing and it would not read the disc. I could hear funny noise inside as perhaps the disc was spinning. I thought it was just a bad disc and tried multiple cds and still the same issue. The tract showing 0 and cannot play.
I wonder could it be the end of life for the laser or could it be something else. Anyway, I was wondering any suggestion that might help diagnose the issue or any service repair for this old treasure. If it can be saved, I like to replaced all the caps. I live in the Southern California. Thank you.

Does the disc spin? If it does it has achieved focus. If not try cleaning the lens with distilled water and a cotton bud.
