Philips CD104 tweaks

Regarding the last seller on eBay, that guy does these mods as a business seller. I remember an auction where a costumer tried to sell a CD304 MKII after it was poorly modified by this Karl Grünwald guy. I have attached the pictures from the auction, unfortunately the pdf with the auction details I too large to post it as well. Interestingly, this Karl Grünwald guy seems to change his eBay name regularly…

Cheers,

I've also recently bought a CD104 & did the NOS mod posted here & sounds very good....it's a 220V unit but here in Malaysia its 240V supply....anyone managed to convert 220V to 240V? read in some previous posts of this attempt by some members but no further results ....also much appreciate if anyone could forward me a service manual for CD104 & CD304 II as well cos the CD304 II is on its way from Germany....my email is lkk3110(remove this)@hotmail.com

Thks in advance

Lee,

Options are

CD104 - 110/127/220/240V changed by changing transformer connections
CD104/01 - 110/127/220/240V switchable with the help of the voltage adapter
CD104/07 - 117V with a special transformer.

So, which version have you got ?

See attached for the transformer wiring.

test all voltages in the powersupply after doing that and please tell about the changes. there is no need to cahnge the transformator from 220 to 240 volt. thats around 10% different. have you messured the real voltage? i mesured 218 volt and it should be 230 volt ...

hi
my unit is CD104/60 & looks like the pins are numbered differently from Jon's attachment.
The ac is currently connected pin 1 & pin 4. I measured the resistance & it shows 61.7ohm. But when I measured between Pin 1 & pin 5, its only 30 ohm. Pin 1 & 2 also 30ohm. But between pin 4 & pin 3, it measured 67.7ohm. I believe the correct conversion should be pin 4 & pin 3. ( pls correct me if I'm wrong) The transfo views looks just like in the attachment but the pins layout is different, guess philips changed it for cd104/60.
