Enjoying the sound of my slightly modded 104, I decided to get a 204 as well. The unit arrived and I started replacing electrolytes, doing the NOS mod and replacing op-amps. I had done this before in the 104 and didn't expect a lot of trouble. But far from it:
Problem one: while the unit was playing I got some distortion when things got musically complex and loud. I checked all soldering joints but to no avail.....
So any suggestion will be welcome.
Problem two: after my last soldering operation the player doesn't power up properly. All it does is that the transport starts spinning, but that's all - no display, no reaction to any button....

So now am feel kind of lost and need some suggestions where to go from here?
