I correct myself: Odahu not Idaho😀
No need to thank me Slideman, by the way Page's
Supro was different. Bigger wattage, pair of 6l6 i think, but probably very similar phase splitter.
If you go for it the original had an open back cabinet, sounds better that way.

Might botch it again.

Really? 6L6 output? I didn't know that... well, doesn't matter... BTW I like open cabinet better. Whos set up is that? Pagey's?
Oh, I've been looking at some guitar amp schematics and found many great amps have concertina PS. Several friendsw who don't know each other said "Do you know Orange's? They sound great!" and found the 120W one has it! Also the old Fender Princeton Reverb, a Seymour Duncan 84-40, I think it's called... and a Kalamazoo, I think it was a Gibson.
Ok, I think it's fair, you've helped me a lot! This was a really juicy thread! Thx a lot for that schematic, but I think I've already have it... If Keith has one of those amps might be for some reason...
I thought I was done but then I read your reply and I wasn’t. First of all, did I really help you? Have you got an amp to be proud of? Not yet…
Yes the Orange sounds good, so does the Vox, Bassman or Deluxe. There are a lot of good sounding amps out there. But I know that already, so everybody does.
The Valco is pretty unknown, so it is interesting, yes the Led Zep fans talk a lot about the Supro, even if they really don’t know what kind of Supro he played….i really doubt it was the 6424 but hey if they say so…
Some of these amps from the 50’s have a great tone that I like and haven’t heard before.
Kind of different from the rest, but to appreciate this you must hear the “rest” before.
So the only “help” I gave you was saying that there are other phase splitters apart from the concertina and the LTP. And anyway I presume it won’t be your last amp so start with any … it won’t pass long before you start thinking about trying other circuits. A phase splitter is just some resistors and 2 caps. You can change your phase splitter in less than an hour.
You’ve got the schematics , time to burn some solder.
That’s the great thing about DIY. You decide. So try them and then tell, but not before. 🙂
Just keep us updated of your progress if any.

Great advice! thanks again!!!!!! Well, I've listened some famous tube amps, and noticed some tone differences even with same tubes or similar circuitry... but I want to be sure with what I'm going to build, and wanted some opinions.
And you're right, in few minutes you can change from one PS to other!

hello,
here is a schematic from me with ECC85.
regards t.
Thanks a lot! Although some voltage readings could help me a little more...
power supply for ECC85 amp
here is the supply, and a link with pictures from the real thing.
I also build some green Monoblocks with this schematic, sound not like normal tube sound.
