With today's possibilities, it should be possible to to 3D print new phase plugs for improvement of cheap or vintage compression drivers. E.g. a JBL2445 comes to my mind.
I wonder if designing a phase plug inspired by the today's state of the art would help to improve the performance.
I have such a vague feeling I saw somebody doing this here or on another forum, but a quick search did not find it.
I do not want to say that I am competent in designing these but modifying an existing design to fit mechanically into another CD sounds easy enough to try out.
