I’ve managed to do it. I tried soldering a thin strand of wire onto the track, but it still wouldn’t work, so I got a small piece of wire and shorted between the forks at different places on the tracks relating to the VOL-. I found a connection on one of them where it successfully reduced the volume. I then got a ONEFORALL Universal Remote Control and managed to clone that function to it. I then put the faulty remote back together and cloned all the other keys to the ALLFORONE remote. I now have a working unit.
