I use 4 pscs 22 uf. 63 V pept in the balanced output of my Legato 3.1 analog stage of my Buffalo dac. Seems to me they are much better than I tought. For sure bass is not the problem.
What do you call it when you revive an old thread?
So is this true, I've been reading the whole thread without mention of bass quality, and then somebody askes and that's it😕 thread over!
There are some issues with all capacitors, to reduce low frequency distortion you often have to size the value for a lower frequency limit 1/10 of what you expect.

What ! 😕 Why is that so ? I make them 10 times BIGGER than most others to reduce transient distortion.

No the problem is found in all capacitors. The more accurate the capacitor the more you will notice it.
Hope to say the same, as soon as I try 6x1uF PETPs in my Yaqin preamp. 😉I use 4 pscs 22 uf. 63 V pept in the balanced output of my Legato 3.1 analog stage of my Buffalo dac. Seems to me they are much better than I tought. For sure bass is not the problem.

Power or signal ?
They make nice power decoupling / smoothing bypass caps, very warm and present sound, In my particular application I'm getting a bigger warmer sound very smooth yet dynamic, Has a big smooth and warm glowing presentation that envelopes the room. Details not as good as some might suggest but there are still plenty there ie; I'm experiencing a slight smoothing of some transients. Bass is more, bass is not on par quality wise than say a PP, but acceptable and maybe worth the trade off, I'm going to keep em in, and bypass them to try to keep some of their qualities. They are beautiful sounding.
Hot parts BABY !!!
We luv it !

I have found the Russian PETP's to be bettter sounding in the signal path than cheap poly's like Solens for example. Bang for buck, they are just about unbeatable. However, if you start getting serious. Dueland cast are the best of the best. Everything else is a compromise. Including Silver Gold Oils, Clarity MR's.
For coupling you can also use

They play in the same league as the PETP.

would be good to be used on high pass signal path and parallel to woofer to do some equalization?

Dude,
Excellent buy for $7. Depends how far you want to go ? Worth a listen for that sort of money.

for speaker crossovers is there any difference in performance between the 63V and 160V versions? Have you tried them charge-coupled?
That's a really good question. Is a 63V PETP cap suitable for use in a speaker crossover? I have never used a cap with a voltage rating that low but I can't see any harm in trying.
so i replaced a number of caps with petp in my crossover.
no grain, no slack and plenty of detail; remarkable. but still, how do you guys stand the sound? it's way too bright!
pianos and cymbal pop at you like flashing lightbulbs.
has break in been experienced for these caps or should i just go buy the good ol solens?
