Permeability of MPP core?

OK, excuse my ignorance, but I'm completely new to the world of ferrite cores - I'm trying to make a conclusion:
1. Use GAPPED core (with two halves and factory made gap insulator - right?)
2. For the core I've chosen (TDK B65661 P22x13), there's only one available gapped version, with N48, so I must take that one.
3. I can pick the 0.1mm gap, which gives AL of 630.
4. I need an inductor with a value of 1.5H, so how much turns do I need? 48800 turns or I calculated wrong? I definitely can't put that much turns onto the bobbin. 🙁

The AL number tells you how many nH per square root of turns. 1.5H is 1.5E9 expressed in nH, divide this by the AL (630) and take the square root of that result. I'm getting 1543 turns.

Next you need to know the winding window area, with that you can calculate the gauge of wire which will fit on to the bobbin.

OK, thanks, I am starting to understand 🙂

It seems I must use 0.12mm wire if I want it to fit into P 22x13 core, so I think I shall try with bigger core. I'm not sure I can work with such a thin wire. 🙁

The 630 type has the gap already. I don't know the answer to whether that part number lands you a pair of cores or just one. Common sense would suggest a pair as the gapping in my experience is done to a pair of cores. Also TDK's datasheet says a set weighs 21g and so does Mouser's description. But Mouser's descriptions are so often in error I'd not want to rely on it.

They are always sold as a set, and the gap can be ground on both halves, or only one of them.
The Mouser page seems to suggest that accessories are included, but I wouldn't be too sure about that. However, 7€ looks extremely expensive for just a set of plain-vanilla ferrite cups. They should cost peanuts normally
