I once owned a Soviet made shaft-drive motorcycle.
The comprehensive (and rather amusing) manual suggested that if hypoid transmission oil was unavailable, transformer oil would be an acceptable subtitute!
Whether the converse is true, I have no idea...

Maybe that explains why the russian car "lada Niva" was so reliable lol, i think you will find they use that oil up there cos its so darn cold.

I once saw a car tint that inhibits the passing of IR through a glass pane... the difference with this product as compared to other tints is that it is a transparent tint... looks like plastic. I think the product is SunGuard.
you might want to ask automotive shops about this product.

I couldnt imagine anything that thin and transparent being able to reflect/absorb any helpfull amounts of UV light, but i'll deffinatly have a bit of a scope around on google, thanks.
It won't because light at the low frquency light (red) will be absorbed. This it why 20 or 40 meters under water everything is a little bit more blue/green than it suppose to be.
me to... but they had this set up where there is a huge lightbulb on one side of a glass pane tinted with this regular and sunguard tint and the difference was very noticeable.
as in the sun gaurd was see through vs the tint?(which the tints purpose is to cut light, and make everything appear somewhat slightly darker depending on the percentage, tints are rated on how much light they allow through, eg "30% tints" allow 30% light through them) or what other difference was there? coloration? (however once again being on car windows, i dont really think you'd be aloud anything that altered colors to a large degree)
yup the sunguard 'tint' was clear... it somehow blocks of IR or UV rays... i'll try to find the pamphlet that they gave away.
i love the water idea people, the idea i'm onto at the mo, is a mini fride, there pretty cheap to buy here, and buy using a sealed projector with the components all sealed inside, using the component tubes around the light box will cut the heat down to a minimal, small pipes can also be extended around the inner case to cool that down,
i run a plumbing company so i've got a few of my plumbers on the case,
small fridges are well cheap, and with all components sealed, condensation can be kept out of the areas it doesnt want to be in,
check out my thread with pics of my projector,
check out my thread for my projector
