Pensils for Alpair 7p, CHN-70

Is this expected to be better than the CHR70.3a on pensil enclosure too?

No one has listened to the CHM70 yet, so that is unknown. It will depend on how much the lessor basket holds them back, and how much difference the papercone makes, that last could well come down to taste.

That would also accommodate offsetting & mirror imaging placement of drivers

Sure. You'll have different baffle loading / diffraction effects, but as far as internal box loading is concerned, should be fine.

thanks guys -I am planning to build them with the "mirror" centered side to side and the same distance from the top. am I still okay with this approach?

I purchased a pair of CHN-70's to get a feel for the Mark Audio sound and put them in the only thing I had laying around which happened to be a pair of TABAQ cabinets (Bjohannesen had simmed the alpair 7 in a TABAQ in post #133 of "Designing a cabinet for Mark Audio Alpair 7.3" with positive results)

All I can say is that I'm excited for the pensil! The Tang Band W4-1320SJ is the only full range driver I've had experience with previously. I won't even bother comparing them with the CHN-70 😛
