Peerless DA25BG08-06 phase shield orientation

It looks like this phase shield was randomly stuck on with no regards to mounting. Does it's orientation matter?

I think it is only held on by magnetic forces between the main magnet and the steel mesh.

Very carefully see if you can rotate whilst in place so it so it looks more acceptable to you. Be careful, use something wooden or plastic to try and rotate it one accidental slip and your dome will have a crease or worse.

I am not sure, of its intended orientation, or if it matters at all in terms of polar response. I have a pair but they are sitting on the shelf waiting for a matching midbass.

Thanks for the tip. You were right, the grills are easily rotated. I was able to "straighten" them so they are aesthetically pleasing. But still not sure of orientation. Should the notches in the plastic phase shield be orientated horizontally or vertically?

I am glad that it worked out safely for you.

As to the orientation of the cutout, in the thin plastic disc attached to the inside of the protective mesh, who knows ? Maybe somebody from Peerless will enlighten us.

I must get round to trying the tweeters soon, I want to see if they will go down to somewhere around 1500Hz to crossover to some seven inch SB satori that have been sitting around for a while. Lack of activity caused by Covid, and work interfering with life.
