Peerless 831979

Many moons ago I bought a pair of small Peerless drivers on ebay. I'm getting around to thinking I might play with them.
I'd hoped to find some information on them though - but I've come up short.

Does anyone have any information?
They are about 116mm across the (metal) chassis, have large bucking magnets in robust cups on the back.
Marked 'Made in Denmark', 'Peerless', '831979' and '8Ohm'.

I do have a DATS2 but to date I have not attempted to use it in anger, and I'm wondering whether I could use a 1p or 5p coin as added mass somehow, or I'd be better trying to make an enclosure.

Time to get angry with your DATS. I weigh some Blu-Tac along with a washer or something, so I can temporarily add it to the cone. I use a cheap pocket scale to weigh it. The DATS program tells you if it isn't heavy enough, when the change in resonant frequency doesn't cause a large enough change.

I guess its the weighing that's an issue. I know how heavy the coins are but attaching them non-destructively is another matter. I have electronic kitchen scales but that's the best I have to hand, and it displays to 1g but I doubt its accuracy on tiny differences. I suppose I could try wighing 10off double sided pads and assume they are all the same.
