I've been doing some modelling with unibox using a Peerless XXLS 12" 830845.
40L - 20hz @ 99.5dB
60L - 20hz @ 102dB
80L- 20hz @ 103dB
Using 500Watts input via a Redgum Plate Amplifier
40L
60L
80L
From the specs it should be to bad at home theatre and/or music, what you guys think?

What is Xmax on this driver? If it's 13mm it looks like you are overdriving it.
Are you prepared to use any EQ? That can add a new slant on box size (smaller) if the voicecoil thermal capacity is big enough and you have enough power.

Hi,
Its 12.5 xmax.... I was just lookng at the pics and thinking the same thing!!
Silly me!
Really only needs 40L with 250Watts to hit xmas which is about 95db at 20hz

Looks OK to me. You could increase box size a bit more (say 60 litres) and get a bit lower without needing any EQ, and have a bit smoother response and need less power. But as it is it's not bad performance from a sealed 40 litre cab.
Hows this one look:
Comparing it to a subwoofer I was looking to purchase.
Velodyne SPL-1500R @ $3000
Velodyne DD14 @ $5000
Pound for pound it looks the same to me or am I missing something?????

Well the frequency response may be similar, but you haven't compared phase, SPL capability or any dynamic attributes.
G'day Nick
You've been asking quite a few questions about the Peerless XXLS drivers here lately. Drop me a mail and you can have a listen to mine.
