Hi Shaan,
Did you consider something like this?

This seems to improve on relais based solutions.

Made a BOM on mouser. Sharing is caring. May be faults within, please let me know.
- 0.1 ohm 5W is on ebay
- No power transistor
- Order more BC transistors for matching
- Uncertain if connectors fit/optimal
Link to mouser BOM, for stereo(2 boards)

Burklin has MPC71 0.1 ohm 5W resistors:
Futaba Metal strip resistor, 0.1 Ω (R10), 5 W, TK +-350 MPC71 0R1 K | Burklin Elektronik
Probably they will fit well into 10 mm hole.

Looks like there is 0.01uF quoted. It should be 0.1uF.

SSR is a great thing but compared to mechanical relays still has a long way to go regarding simplicity and off state behavior. I do believe that these will improve with time and in near future people may use only SSRs.

Nice catch! Looking forward to getting the boards.
Ordered the 0.1 resistors on ebay, dirty cheap, 2-3$ for 10. Shipping takes time tho 🙄

PSU is UP!
Both protection modules started successfully. Both relays turn on in ~4 seconds after power up and instantly disconnect at power off. Next I will measure DC response time and minimum level of DC that triggers the protection mechanism.
I was a little unsure whether both would work or not, because like the positive and negative halves of PeeCeeBee amplifiers, the two speaker protection modules are symmetrical to each other i.e. using complementary transistors on each side. This was done to keep the load on both rails equal as the module on the left side draws current from positive rail and the one on the right side from negative rail. As a result DC rail outputs are very close to each other. The transistors are the same as used in V4 and V4H amplifiers i.e. BC and KSE pairs.
The right relay turns on about 0.5 second after the left relay. Not a large gap but I am thinking of installing a trimmer on each side to make them turn on in unison, if desired! 😀
More coming soon. Stay tuned.

Hi Shaan..miss my nickname 😉
BTW: Did you try your amp board with MPC 71 5W 0.1 ohm resistors too?

Hi Andrej.
List in the text file in my PC has you so don't worry. 🙂
Will be added along with Hemant07 in next list update.
The resistors I use are all generic 5% wirewound and are not non-inductive. You can use practically any 5W resistor.

These MPC resistors have 9 mm raster between legs, but with mm above the pcb, they should fit nicely.

MPC 74 is the better, audio grade, type.
I'd like to get four V4H boards when available. Please add me to your list for next GB. Thank you!

Received today!
Hi Richard.
Yes it's the same. Only difference is that total MOSFET bias is 200mA so total amplifier bias to be set is 210mA.
