Hi guys! First of I want to congratulate you for this awesome forum! I´m from Costa Rica, so my english is not thet good, but I hope it is good enough for you to understand me =).
I´m a drummer, so I´m a little ignorant when it comes to guitar amplification.
I have a home studio and I have a project whith a friend of mine, we love composing and recording our music (he plays guitar and bass).
A coupleof years ago, I found a treasure on a local store here in Costa Rica, a brand new sealed in box Peavey VTM 60 amp, it whas at the back of the store, with a lot of gr8 stuff they didnt sold in the past years, so I bought it at an amaing price ($300). Then I purchased a Randall cab 4X12 equiped with celestion speakers.
I got tired of the size and weight of these two, so I sold the Randall cab and purchased an Orange cab PPC112C 1X12 celestion vintage 30. I also purchased an Orange Tiny Terror amp.
The thing is that we only use them for home recording, we do not play at gigs or that kind of stuff. Now I have these two amps, the VTM 60 and the Tiny Terror and I need to get rid of one, I don´t need both.
So my questions are: Which one is better for what I need (home recording)? Which one should I sell? Do u think selling that Randall cab and getting the Orange cab was an stupid decision?
I would love to read all your comments and opinions about it! Thanks
Best regards,
Arnoldo
BTW, if u need any help or have any questions about drums recording, just ask me and I´ll be happy to help! =)

Hi. This isn't the best forum for musician-type wonders, mostly HiFi nuts here...
But...I would definately pick the TinyTerror over the VTM60, but surely, this is your gear, and sitting down and giving them a go should let you decide quickly enuff all by urself.

Thanks for your response! The thing is that on musician forums, some people just dont know what they are talking about so I tought this would be a good forum to ask some questions because you guys know a lot about tubes and I want to know which one is better made, which one has better tubes etc etc...
The VTM is a very good marshall clone and there are great mods for these amps on-line. I would mod and sell that one to get the Murcury magneatics upgrade to turn the Tiny terror into a Holy Terror. That mod makes that amp scream!!!!! JMHO
Hey thanks escopunk! That seems to be a grat idea! I´ll take a look to some reviews to hear the difference.
For home recording loudness is not so important, even a small amp can be loud enough. But I think versatility IS important. SO which amp can give you the widest range of sounds? SOme amps sound GREAT, but only have one sound they make. Other amps can make clean, overdriven, fat, thin. SOme amps only really sound good with single coil pickups and some amps really only sound good with humbuckers, and some versatile amps can sound good with either.
SO unless you only record one specific sort of sound, I'd recommend you think about versatility then explore both amps again and see how they compare.
If you really like overdriven distorted sound, and rarely use clean, check out the clean anyway, you never know when you may change your mind. Or you may want to use some effect pedal, and want a clean amp to play it through.
Just my opinion.

Thanks Enzo! You´re right about the versatility, we need a lot of different sounds cuz we record different types of music. I´ll seriously take your opinion into consideration. Thanks!
