Hi,
I have two old Philips amps EL6435 in which the tubes need to be replaced. the output tubes are the rare PE06/40's. Philips created these tubes to be 807-alike. However they are not the same. How can I rebuild my amp to use the 807 outpute tube?

I don't know anything about these amps, but do a search on 1625 as a tube type. It is a 807 analog with the same base and heater voltage as a pe06/40.
yep - basic specs on the datasheet shows them to be close to the 807/1625, including basing. The 5 pin base matches the 807 with 6.3v heater, the 7 pin base matches the 1625 with 12.6v heater. Haven't looked at hte curves to see how close they are in action, but they can't be too far off...
