Those look like fun. 
I use a pair of the Dayton Audio 18" neo drivers PN470-8 and have been very happy with them. I briefly had a pair of MCM 21" which were perfect on open baffle.
P.E. suggest a 6.5 cubic foot box for these 21s with an F3 of 45Hz. What box would it take to get closer to Fs?

Vas/1.44 tuned to Fs is the optimal trade-off between box size, power handling, so ~308.33 L/10.89 ft^3L assuming of course the published spec is ~accurate.

Well, in the tube tone control era, a 4x CR was common, so ~111 L same as a BLH default low pass filter chamber = 0.77 Qtc, 112 dB/m/2pi/27.6 Hz/11 mm/1 kW, peaking at ~131 dB/84 Hz, so for all but some pipe organ symphonies, a DSPed stereo pair + room gain...... who needs huge vented cabs?
