PCM2707 -> TAS3004 - I2S doubt

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, and I've searched for a similar threads but I did not find any answer to my question.

My project will have a PCM2707 as interface from USB and a TAS3004 for audio signal processing and a AD1954 as DAC.
The TAS3004 will also be used to switch to other input devices.

I've checked the datasheets and between them all the only component that does not accept to be a slave device is the PCM2707, wich means that this device will have to be the Master for the whole board, and this brings me to ask:

Does anyone know if the PCM2707 pin BCK (aka MCLK) stays always active, even if there is no streaming from the PC or the USB is not connected?

I would really be a pain to have to use an extra clock when the USB is detached or not active. :bawling:

Can anyone please check with a scope on there own circuit if this pin stays active all the time?

Thank you that would be very appreciated

Cheers 🙂
