And how is the sound?

The design intent was low measured distortion.
With passive I-V distortion rises above around +-0.2V swing.
I'm not saying it doesn't sound great but it won't meet the original design intent.

Did a few experiments. The measurement is quite good. The corner frequency is pretty outstanding. Is there a better IV stage in the market?

Freq. resp.: ±0.06 dB (20Hz..20kHz)
Corner freq.: -3 dB (40kHz), -12 dB/octave
Noise: 1.21 μV (-118.3 dB)
THD (1 kHz): 0.0003%
THD (20 kHz): 0.0004%
Out voltage: +6 dBu (1.55V)
BW: 20kHz

What opamp / circuit values did you use?
Are those THD or THD+N?

The distortion is close to SOTA but 1794 can acheive better noise / DR performance than this if optimised. It looks like you are getting around
122dB DR.
