I have a PCM1704 on a pcb that is distorting, is this a known kind of chip failure or do they usually die completely with no more output ?
All surrounding caps are changed already, all pins confirmed to share signals and supply with other working chips, also connected for test to another I/V.

I don't know if it's a common failure mode, but I too have a DAC with a PCM1704 that's distorting... Viewed on a scope, it looks like it has a stuck bit. As a result, I'm looking to buy a PCM1704 chip, if anyone has a single for sale!

I had this on a PCM1702.... after replacement things went away... often the point is to get genuine parts as China parts as usual faick as simple re-stamped.
