IME you will get better resolution and performance using the K grade chip. I have experienced this with both PCM63 and PCM1704 and I don't see why this will not be the case with the 1702
Good question. For me the most interesting question is, what kind of audible effects are there by a listening test (assuming the best possible approach for an I/U converter is in use for both versions).
It would also be interesting to know if there are any audible differences between the early versions of PCM1702 from 1990 and later versions made in Korea - go to post #10 under
