PCBPCBs for Nelson Pass‘ CSX1 SONY VFET amplifier

The L bracket to attach board to the heatsink looks pretty straightforward. Planning on the following, but please advise if something else is preferable!

2.0" x 2.0" x 10.0" @ 0.25" thick
60603-T52 extruded aluminum, bare

@ BK

You can cut L bracket the same length as pcb....but....more
contact touch space with heat sink give more efficient heat transfer
from vfet's and irf's so longer version is better,
the best one L have the same length as inside heat sink imho.
You can see this on the photos in all First Watt amplifiers.

Greetings 🙂

Oh my. Did anyone else use onlinemetals for their angle aluminum and were you happy with the result? The cuts on mine were seemingly done freehand by an angry and impatient person wielding a chainsaw. Not a pretty sight!

Online metals sent me new pieces and promised them to be straight and true - kudos for that! Received today and they are much better but not perfect. About 3/32" out of true. In my book they're a source for bulk materials, but not precision cut materials - fair enough. Cut quality might also depend on which of the several warehouses it comes from. If I had to do it over again, I would probably opt for the softer 6061 extrusion because I will need to somehow lap this material flat for decent heat transfer.

@luvdunhill: I don't think there is enough interest in another run. vFets are not available anymore and the people who have some will probably consider the vFet part 2 amplifier. I have not received any request for the boards that I offered some weeks ago.
