PCB Group Buy for the "DAC + headphone amp" Project

Hi,

Gary, well it seems the optical splitter is a purely passive
device, I can't see it uses power. That would mean a 3dB+
loss in the optical path. I am not sure if this would actually
work for me since I have optical TOS link runs through my
house that are fairly long. Anyway, I make it work somehow.

Geek, just a thought, can we have the PCB made with
blue or red soldermask to make it look more interesting
than the usual green ?

Cheers

Does your guy do RoHS? If so, a black soldermasked PCB with gold plating... drool...

I think the gold might up the price a wee 😉

Almost finished moving, and my computer's up now. Changes will start this week.

Cool!

Moving is a mess. Done that too many times 🙁

Only 15 boards have been paid for so far. If we can get the new files before the rest are paid, we can probably get the new design if I can fandagle the re-setup fees 🙂

Cheers!

Sorry missed the payment info, what is shipping to sweden? Is it paypal to you Geek?Ehmrrr, that´s the reason I whanted another board, the new design, with 2 double opams....

Hehe, I am not against gold plating at all, but I would not want to
be the first to bring that up been a newbie here. 😀 😀
I would have no problem to chip in extra coin if the majority wants
to go with gold plated boards and a cool looking
soldermask. Anything that makes this project look more professional
is welcome.
Just to bad there is not much gold visible left once everything is soldered
into place.

Cheers

The post is here.

If we don't get the new boards in time, do you want me to pass your reservation on to those on the waiting list? 😕

rjkdivin - I'll pass the info along 🙂

tobias_svensk - You bet, many thanks! I try to reply to all the people that sent the money. Sorry if I forgot you.

I have some answers from the manufacturer for folks...

Green solder mask is best and that's why all manufacturers do in this colour eventhough other colours are also available. We do not stock Red & Blue since solder mask has a shelf life and no one orders in these colours.

Regarding the ROHS:

For ROHS compliance we can give in bright acid tin plating and solder masking will be over the tin plating and after soldering the components the look may not be good.

And the gold plating depends a lot on the board design, but...

This may be expensive ... and which area can be determined after receiving your films or gerber file.

I don't know if they'd have to do the whole lot or could be selective. If selective, those who want gold can get it. If they have to do the lot, I don't think it'd be fair to jack the price up for everyone 🙁

Cheers!

Line Output option

Just asking if this circuit can do the trick. I'm not asking to have this inlcuded on the PCB, but I may try to had by myself a small home made SMD pcb with these parts, mounted on the back of the PCB. I tried to used as many standard parts as possible (same parts used on the stock PCB).

Let me know if the circuit can work and if my parts values make sense. Just one channel is shown.

Thanks in advance..
