PC (USB) / Pi streamer and DAC build

Hello again

I am planning on buying / building a streamer and dac. I want to be able to use a raspberry pi as roon endpoint, drive a screen or display and then also have the facility to input usb from my pc or laptop through the same devices. I am a bit overwhelmed by the choices we have in the Ian Canada product suite. Can someone give me some advice. I have written Ian as well. I would like to buy once but not all at once if I can avoid it. So getting the large capacitor equipped PSUs etc could maybe wait. I was looking at the project sections but got overloaded with the options. Any help or suggestions to get me started will be greatly appreciated. RCA outs to amp/powered speakers will be fine.

Thanks very much

It seems to me your question is so broad it is difficult to know how to answer it.

I use a Pi-based streamer, with a screen, various power supplies and the Volumio software. To me, it sounds and works great. Why not get an RPI4b and start there. Try some of the software options, for free, maybe play with power supplies, try some inexpensive HATs and find out what works for you? There is an almost infinite number of ways to configure such a streamer, and Ian Canada's parts can be part of it, and each of us will have our own preference.

My two cents.

Hi there

Thanks for the reply. I do have a few hifiberry products in use already and want to take the next step. I have a beosound amp with upcycled bang and olufsen cx 100s, a dac hd connected to audioengine speakers and also a hifiberry amp connected to my custome bookshelves. So would just appreciate some advice on my next build and I would like to start down the ian canada path
