Yes I can buy a kit from either menicus audio or Madisound. I know both company’s very well. I was looking at a kit from parts express? But, I have no idea how their reference drivers sound? Here is the picture of the kit am looking at?

Dayton Audio drivers are just fine. This kit probably is, too. PE doesn’t publish any serious data, so for that you are on your own.
Okay thanks sounds good. I’m still looking at other kits but, I have been eyeing this one for awhile now. It’s price is right. So I don’t think I can get a commercial speaker for that price range that compares with the Parts express kit. Maybe I can buy the parts and skip the box? Am not a (MDF) user and have not used it in many years. Still looking around at kits. Will update soon.
Usually the Dayton drivers sold at PE have full spec sheets incl FR and impedance curves, and recos for enclosure size for woofers, etc. I have used them and good quality at very reasonable prices, although there are a couple to avoid. The cheaper line I wouldn't recommend but their RS line is good. I have also spoken a few times with their tech guys on the tech help line, nice guys always willing to help and quite knowledgeable. Used their sub kit for an 8" and very well made and easy to put together, but yes they offer MDF. If you can select drivers that match the standard Dayton xovers pretty well, then that also saves a lot of money. Two ways like at 2,500 and 3-ways, a couple different options. And they have high pass, low pass. If you use wood rather than MDF, you can also buy acoustic paint that can coat the inside to reduce panel vibrations (in addition to bracing and the usual stuffing).

If you are looking to build a completely new 2 way speaker, I'd recommend looking into designs using SB Acoustics drivers (if you are wanting to source them from the same retailer, given the number of retailers that sell SBA drivers globally). There are lots of published designs using SBA drivers and their drivers generally perform very well for their price points. You can choose their Satori (upper end) line, or NRX/NAC middle or PFC lower end but still competent.
