Hello all,
I am curious as to your expert opinions on the use of a passive tone control board. Something akin to this fleabay example:

I realize that this is a "subtractive" option as far as gain is concerned. However, I am more concerned whether fidelity could be an issue as total volume shouldn't be.
Thank you all for your time and your knowledge!

Without a schematic ... How long is a bit of string? It is, if gain before and after is not a problem, a well used way of producing a desired result.

I've used a few of the China-spec boards now for various things and they've all worked as expected. You can always use decent quality pots/etc if they're noisy, but aside from that I've never had an issue.

You should know the input and output impedance of the board, to see if it's compatible with your other components.
